Retro Chrome Film - Film Recipe for Ricoh GR III and GR IIIx
Hello all! Enjoy this new Ricoh GR III Recipe! This film simulation works with the GR III and the GR IIIx. Today’s new Ricoh GR III Recipe is called Retro Chrome 1600. All of the sample images are SOOC (straight-out-of-camera) JPEG images and the colors were not altered in any way.
Luke’s Kodak Ektachrome 1600 - Film Simulation for Ricoh GR III and GR IIIx
Bonjour everyone! Enjoy this new Ricoh GR III Recipe! This film simulation works with the GR III and the GR IIIx.
Today’s new Ricoh GR III Recipe is called Luke’s Kodak Ektachrome 1600
This is the first film simulation where I’ve experimented with setting a manual ISO value. As you probably guessed, that value is ISO 1600. The elevated ISO certainly kept my shutter speeds high.
Ricoh HDR Film - Film Simulation for Ricoh GR III and GR IIIx
Ricoh HDR Film is a new film simulation/recipe for the Ricoh GR III and Ricoh GR IIIx. The instructions and recipe are free in the post. All sample images are unedited straight out of my Ricoh GR III. Ricoh HDR Film is based off Ricoh’s HDR Tone picture profile.
Analog Negative - Film Recipe for Ricoh GR III and GR IIIx
Analog Negative Film is a new film simulation/recipe for the Ricoh GR III and Ricoh GR IIIx. The instructions and recipe are free in the post. All sample images are unedited straight out of my Ricoh GR III. Analog Negative is based off Ricoh’s Negative Film simulation.
Kodak Magenta Chrome - Film Simulation for Ricoh GR III and GR IIIx
I’m back this week with another Ricoh GR III (and GR IIIx) film simulations. In my never ending pursuit to create a Kodak Portra 400 recipe, I was doing some experimenting, and came up with what I’m calling Kodak Magenta Chrome. Admittedly, the recipe isn’t that close to Porta, but that is ok.
Pastel Film 400 - Film Recipe for Ricoh GR III and GR IIIx
This is a new film simulation for the Ricoh GR III (and GR IIIx). I created Pastel Film 400 using the pre-installed Negative Film Preset. It features low contrast and mid-high saturation. My favorite thing about this film recipe is how it renders blue colors. Blues are captured in a pastel pallet. Deeper blues are lightened, bringing an overall softness to the images.
Natural Analog - Film Simulation for Ricoh GR III and GR IIIx
This is a new film simulation for the Ricoh GR III (and GR IIIx). You can install the preset settings into your Ricoh and shoot JPEGs with a similar look. Interestingly, you can also use these recipes as LUTs. Although I don’t recommend the Ricoh GR for video, it can be nice in a pinch. The recipes act as LUTs when the Ricoh is put into video mode. This film simulation was created using the famous Positive Film picture profile. I dropped the saturation and the contrast and over-exposed the images a bit more than the standard profile. I’m calling this simulation Natural Analog.
Ethereal Film 200 - Film Simulation for Ricoh GR III and GR IIIx
This is a new film simulation for the Ricoh GR III (and GR IIIx). I created this recipe from the Bleach Bypass picture profile. I live in an extremely sunny country and most of my photography is done in harsh sun of mid-day and early afternoon. I wanted to make a film simulation which captured the haze of the late summer sun in North Africa and this one fit the bill.
Analog Film 400 - Film Simulation for Ricoh GR III and GR IIIx
This is a new film simulation for the Ricoh GR III (and GR IIIx). I had the opportunity to make a quick trip to London and photograph downtown. I hope you enjoy the sample shots. You can find the recipe details on my website for free.
Vintage Fade Film - Film Simulation for Ricoh GR III and GR IIIx
Vintage Fade Film is a new film simulation for the Ricoh GR III and GR IIIx. It features the Bleach Bypass preset, medium contrast, and high saturation. You can find the recipe details on my website for free.
Summer Bleach Film - Film Simulation for Ricoh GR III and GR IIIx
Summer Bleach Film is a new film simulation I developed for the Ricoh GR III and GR IIIx. It uses the Bleach Bypass picture profile and adds a healthy dose of saturation and contrast. The recipe is free on my website.
Turquoise Film 200 - Film Recipe for Ricoh GR III and GR IIIx
Turquoise Film 200 uses Ricoh’s Negative Film picture profile as a foundation and adds some saturation, contrast, and clarity. The white balance is set to K5000 to cool the colors.
Blueberry Film 400 - New Film Recipe for Ricoh GR III and GR IIIx
I was determined to create a recipe using the built in Cross-Process picture profile as a base. I’ve never been fond of Cross-Process but I thought I would give it a try anyway. I adjusted the picture profile to the magenta setting, made a few tweaks to the contrast and shading, and then took my Ricoh out on the streets of Athens, Greece.
Negative Film GOLD - New Film Recipe on Ricoh GR III and GR IIIx
This week I developed a film simulation for the Ricoh GR III and GR IIIx. I used the new Negative Film picture profile Ricoh just released with Firmware 1.7 and tweaked it slightly. I input a custom white balance, added some saturation, and shifted the colors towards the warm magentas. I’ve entitled this recipe Negative Film Gold.
Negative Film Simulation on Ricoh GR III and GR IIIx - Sample Images
A few days ago, Ricoh released their new Negative Film picture profile for the Ricoh GR III. This film simulation is a welcome companion to Ricoh’s already popular Positive Film profile. The best news of all is that Negative Film is free to all existing GR III users. All you need to do to get the new picture profile is install the latest firmware (version 1.7).
Cotton Color 400 - Film Recipe for Ricoh GR III and GR IIIx
I created a new film recipe for the Ricoh gr iii and griiix called Cotton Color 400. The intent of this simulation is to give the photographer a “default” film recipe that can be used in a wide variety of lighting conditions. Cotton Color 400 features slightly muted colors, low-to-mid contrast, and bright highlights. Kodak’s Portra 400 provided some inspiration for the color palette.
Indigo Film 800 - New Film Simulation for Ricoh GR III and GR IIIx
Indigo Film 800 is built on Ricoh’s pre-installed Retro picture profile and adds a strong dose of saturation and sharpness. The final recipe features a slight white balance shift towards the cooler colors, slightly favoring the blues and magentas. If you don’t know how to input a film recipe into your Ricoh GR III or GR IIIx.
