Classic Gold Negative - Film Simulation for Fujifilm Cameras
Classic Gold Negative - Film Simulation for Fujifilm Cameras
In my last post, I mentioned that I had the chance to try out a Fujifilm X-H1. I bought it off Ebay, but ultimately had to return it because it was damaged. In my short time with the camera, I noted the solid build quality and nice ergonomics.
Rather than trying to buy another X-H1, I decided to spend the money to get the Fujifilm X-H2. I’m a photographer and videographer, and the X-H2 has the ability to do both very well. The 40 megapixels appealed to me, especially after shooting with my Sony a7sii for several months (12 megapixels can be limiting for stills). The great 4k quality appealed to me on the video side.
Of course, since purchasing, I’ve been trying out the film simulations that Fuji is so famous for. I’m enjoying them and experimenting, and I’d like to share one of those experiments with you today.
The Fujifilm recipe I’ve created for you today is called Classic Gold Negative. It’s built on the Classic Negative film simulation.
The sample photos were taken as I left Ohio on my way to Albania following the Thanksgiving holidays. I experienced a lot of grey skies and rain. No doubt better lighting will improve this recipe’s results in the future. I’m looking forward to using this one in the spring months.
The colors in these photos are straight out of camera JPEGs, and the colors have not been edited.
Happy photographing!
