Kodak Gold 200 Lightroom Preset… I’m releasing another free Lightroom preset based on Kodak’s famous Gold 200 film stock. This preset is not a perfect match, but that is to be expected when trying to make a digital file match the volatility of physical film. The preset is free and I hope you enjoy using it, tweaking it, and making it your own. This preset can be applied to RAW or JPEG photos from any camera.

This is my Classic Chrome recipe for the Ricoh GR III. It is not an attempt to match the Fujifilm recipe exactly, but more my interpretation of what I want to see in Classic Chrome. This film recipe is based on Ricoh’s Positive Film, but features an adjusted hue and ISO fixed at 400.

I’ve been in Athens, Greece with my Ricoh GR III for the last couple days and I’ve been working on a new film simulation. I’m going to call this one Shady Summer Film. It has a cool white balance to balance out the hot summer sun. Most of the photos you’ll see in this article were taken just north of the Victoria Metro Station on the green line in Athens.

Warm yellows and soft blues are highlighted in this new Portra Gold preset. These photos are RAW files shot with various cameras and lenses, everything from full frame to micro four thirds. The Olympus Pen-F Micro Four Thirds digital camera is a modern day legend in 2024. It is loved by many Olympus owners and one of the only true covetable m4/3 cameras on the used market. A couple months ago, I bought an Olympus Pen-F from a local camera store and wanted to share my review and thoughts on this camera in 2024.

Being inspired by Fujifilm Provia’s realistic and slightly muted colors, I set out with my Olympus Pen-F, Ricoh GR III, and Sigma FP to produce a film simulation preset that would capture the heat of the summer sun and and haze of the swelteringly June days. This free Adobe Lightroom preset was inspired by the sun washed scenes of summer and its perfect for use with RAW files from just about any camera.

I took my Olympus Pen-F to the park in Albania to work on a new preset called Portra Soft Green. The summer rain has brought out the greenery, the roses, and some marvelous flowering pink trees (I don’t know their name), and I needed a good Lightroom preset to capture the scenes. Portra Soft Green gives a matte color to the greens and allows contrasting colors to shine through.

Having reviewed dozens of images taken with Fujifilm’s Pro 400H film stock, I’ve really grown to love the colors. I’ve been experimenting with recreating the look in Lightroom and I wanted to share my results. The film stock has been hard to match due to the fact that many of the modern sample images were taken on expired film, which results in a variety of color shifts, saturations, and white balances.

I’ve been longing for some rustic and earthen tones in my photography lately, so I set to work trying to develop a recipe for my Ricoh GR III. I originally started with “Negative Film,” but ended up finding the “Retro” picture profile to be a better base. I originally didn’t find “Retro” to be a particularly good foundation for recipes, but over the months, it has grown on me.

I’ve been seeing a Portra 160 film simulation for the Ricoh GR III floating around the internet recently. There are several variations of the recipe featuring slightly different white balance settings. This post is my test of my modified recipe and my attempt to document it for those searching for it in the future.

This new film simulation for the Sigma FP and FP L is based on Sigma’s “Portrait” Color Mode, which I’ve never used before. I haven’t toyed with this particular color mode enough to give you an opinion on its quality, but I will say these initial photos indicate good things. I think the Sigma did an excellent job capturing the colors and the contrast of the Albanian spring flowers and foliage.

This new film simulation for the Sigma FP and FP L is based on Sigma’s pre-installed Color Mode titled “Cinema.” I made a few adjustments to the contrast and intensity of the original profile to creation this recipe. I’m increasingly impressed with the color science on the Sigma FP. It’s almost as if this camera can’t produce an ugly color.

The Powder Blue Color Mode on the Sigma FP continues to be my favorite built-in picture profile, and I’ve once again modified it to create a new film simulation on my FP. I’ve dubbed this one “Azure Natural.” This time, I’ve decreased the strength of the Powder Blue profile, setting it to -2. The saturation of the overall image is increased to the maximum, a slight amount of sharpness has been added, and contrast is slightly diminished. All of these settings can be adjusted and saved in-camera, and they are applied to the final JPEG image.

I’ve been working on a Lightroom preset inspired by Fujifilm Natura 1600. I can’t exactly describe what draws me to the colors of this film stock, but I’ve been enamored by it recently. I generally don’t like green tints in my images, but Natura 1600 seems to render them in a pleasant way. With the price of film sky-rocketing, and the used camera market being as hot as it is, I thought it was time to make a free preset to give people the vibes of some classic films without the expense.

ColorMax Film is a free preset for Adobe Lightroom users. The colors are rich and vibrant without being oversaturated. The contrast is slightly lowered. The overall look is punchy and playfully colorful.

Lately, I’ve been trying out some of the internet’s free presets for Adobe Lightroom, especially those that use “Fujifilm” like colors. Some of them have been delightful, but most of them haven’t fit my editing style, so I decided to create my own. My preset is called Fuji Color Negative Film. It takes some inspiration from the Negative Film picture profile built into the Ricoh GR III.

Another day of experimenting in Lightroom has brought forth another preset for your enjoyment. This preset was originally named Guam 200, because many of the photos were taken on the island of Guam, but I renamed it for the sake of SEO and search friendliness. This preset is slightly desaturated with medium contrast. I also adjusted a few of the tone curves, adding magenta to the shadows and a bit of yellow to the highlights.
