I’ve been an Olympus e-m1 mark ii owner for a long time, but I’ve been looking for a small EDC (every day carry) camera. I’ve tried several options, including my beloved Ricoh GR III, the Sony rx100 vii, the Sigma FP, and a Sony a7s (the original). But I've once again returned to Olympus in my exploration for the perfect compact camera, this time the Olympus e-m10 mark ii. This is my 2024 review of the e-m10 mark ii.
The Olympus E-M10 Mark ii - A Great Monochrome Camera
I’ve been using my e-m10 mark ii as a dedicated monochrome camera and I want to share my results. Lets see how the micro four thirds sensor performs in 2024. Overall, I’m very pleased to use my e-m10 mark II as a monochrome camera. I like the results more than the output of any other camera I’ve tried.
Olympus / OM System Grainy Film I Black and White - A Review of ART Filter 5
Olympus’ Grainy Film I is a black and white filter which artificially adds grain to the final JPEG file. The grain is definitely noticeable, especially when cropping. That said, I enjoy the look, and it makes these images of north Africa look as if they could have been taken a few decades ago. It gives a timeless aesthetic to the modern world.
Olympus / OM System Art Filters - A Review of ART 16 - Instant Film
This is the second article where I discuss the built in art filters on my Olympus e-m1 mark ii. As far as I know, most modern Olympus or OM System cameras include these art filters. The Olympus e-m1 mark ii has a dedicated dial on the mode selector specifically for ART mode, although I believe this setting was removed on the latest OM System OM-1.
